Thanksgiving in Alabama

Okay I know it has been a LONG time since I posted but I can't miss anything so I am going back quite a ways! 

We headed down to Alabama to see Lorie and James' family for Thanksgiving.  Dave and Tisha, MaryAnn and Jeff, Joan and Ted & Lane and Aubree met us all there!  It was so fun to see cousins and spend some time away!  I wish we would have gotten more pics of the amazing dinner Lorie prepared for us.  She made us a real southern Feast! Brisket, Smoked and baked turkey,  Smoke pork, southern potatoes, cheesy beans and tons of pies! So fun!

Fun visitors!

Shannon came to visit me this past week!!!!

We had a packed week! She arrived Sunday night and Monday was Baltimore, Tuesday was an attempt at DC... that and traffic did not agree with each other.  And Wednesday was shopping at the outlets and pedicures in Hagerstown!  Then... off to NEW YORK!!

 So we decided to go authentic and did the Subway the whole time.  We got lost plenty of times but I figured I needed to become very familiar with the city in case we get more visitors who want to tour New York!  I definitely learned the city!  It was an eye opening experience.

 We saw Mary Poppins on Broadway! AMAZING!!!

I think my favorite show so far on Broadway is still Wicked but this one was amazing.

 Times Square

 So we went by the suburb version of Bloomindales. In Soho.  Not quite the same but we had to get a pic!

 NEWSIES!!! This show was amazing!  It was definitely a close runner up to Wicked! The dancing was phenomenal and the singing wasn't bad either.  The lead was so cute and intense.

Grandma and Grandpa's visit! 

Grandma and Grandpa came out for a visit the first week of November.  It was so fun to have them see where we've been living and what We've been up to! The kids couldn't wait to show them their rooms, their schools, and just about every inch of the house. We had a blast!

 

 A carriage ride through Lancaster,PA. We got to know a little about the Amish community.  They are definitely an interesting

 The sweet Amish man let the kids drive the horse and buggy.  We went on the main road and everything.  The cars behind us weren't very happy :)

A short game of Twister. It didn't last long for the adults to say, "that's all!"  My mom and I sat out and watched!

Jon had the day working at home and we stole him away for a few hours at the farm!

Decorating Pumpkins.  We bypassed the carving and painting this year and went a much easier route!  I loved it!  They have this awesome ribbon factory in Hagerstown and they have the most random things for sale.  So in August they brought out these cute pumpkin decorations and I splurged and bought one for each of the kids!

Pick you own pumpkin patch~  They are so cute but sooo over priced.  We got to the checkout and one pumpkin was $15.00.  Can you believe it??

 Yeah we put the big ones back.. Aldi's market has them for $2.99!

Since I can't do any price matching here, I have the find the best deal I can by store traveling.  It's annoying.  I love Aldis though!

Hunter's Baptism

We gave the Hunter the choice to have his baptism in Maryland and Utah. It was a HUGE decision for him. Ha it was funny. 

He finally chose Utah after feeling very bad for his "Poor friends in Maryland who won't be able to see the Baptism."  He really wanted Grandmas and Grandpas to be there.

It was a really nice program. 

 Here's a few of the things from the program:

He chose to give a talk because he saw his friend her give a talk at his baptism.  He told himself that if Ryan could do it, so could he.  He planned a little bit but when it actually came down to the day, he had 3 questions written down on a piece of paper.  Why am I getting baptized?  What does being submerged in the water mean? and What did I learn from seeing Ryan get baptized?

Out of those 3 questions, he gave a 10 minute talk.  It was amazing. He was confident and bore his testimony that he was doing what he knew was right and told us why. I was so proud of him. What a great example he was to all of us!
